The enthusiast cooled the Intel Core i9-14900K and RTX 5090 with air conditioning
A Chinese tech blogger, Electrolytic Sodium Carbonate (ESC), developed an unusual cooling system. He connected his personal computer to a Xiaomi KFR-35GW air conditioner (12,000 BTU) and recorded record low temperatures.
The system used for testing consisted of an Intel Core i9-13900K and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. However, according to the blogger, this cooling method will also be perfect for even more powerful devices like the Intel Core i9-14900K and Nvidia RTX 5090. He is currently waiting for a compatible water block for the new RTX 5090.
To create such a cooling system, the air conditioner was significantly modified. The dimensions of the device are 765 × 268 × 550 mm, and its efficiency has been proven to be high. After a 40-minute load using stress tests like FurMark and AIDA System Stability Test, the processor cores were only a few degrees warmer than their initial temperature.
Later, the air conditioner was taken outside. The GPU temperature was initially only 2 °C, rising to 12 °C during the load. In repeated tests, the maximum temperature ranged from 20 to 36 °C.
The blogger who developed the project emphasizes that this cooling system will also be suitable for the future Nvidia RTX 6090.
