Apple is accelerating the production of home robots
Apple is hiring robotics specialists – are home robots on the way?
Apple is expanding its robotics division and attracting new specialists, according to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman. This could indicate that the company is seriously working on creating home robots.
What’s happening?
There are two specialized divisions at Apple focused on robotics:
— Home Labs (hardware development);
— A special projects team led by Kevin Linch.
These teams previously worked on Apple’s autonomous vehicle project, but after that project was closed, they transitioned to robotics.
What developments is Apple working on?
— The company has already presented a Pixar-style robot lamp prototype.
— Work is underway on a screen-equipped robotic arm.
— There are rumors about an interest in creating humanoid robots.
— In recent weeks, Apple has been posting numerous job openings for robotics specialists.
What to expect in the future?
If this project does not meet the fate of Apple Car, we might see Apple’s own iRobot emerge in the coming years.
