The US prosecutor obtained a court order to remotely access Telegram servers as part of an investigation related to child exploitation. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Rozetked reported on this matter. According to the documents, the prosecutor plans to send special messages to the servers and use "remote search technology" to obtain information from the suspect's account.
This method is intended to retrieve communication and account information. However, Telegram company stated that it is impossible to carry out such actions.
They emphasized that even their own engineers cannot access messages on the servers because Telegram servers are strongly encrypted, and there is no practical way to break this encryption. Additionally, the company highlighted that it continuously enforces strict measures against harmful content and complies with all legal requests from the US.
In particular, they provide criminals' IP addresses and phone numbers. At the same time, Telegram's encryption system is designed to ensure users' privacy, and such a protection system is considered crucial in detecting and preventing crimes.
The court decision and prosecutor's actions are deemed necessary for the effective conduct of the investigation process.
