It is expected that the new model will replace the previous budget version of the iPhone SE. Apple has modernized the device by removing the "home" button and adding a larger screen with Face ID. The new model features the A18 chip, similar to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The device also supports Apple's artificial intelligence system. There is a single camera on the back panel.

The new iPhone 16e includes a customizable Action button like the latest premium models, as well as the ability to connect to satellite networks for sending SMS offline and accessing emergency services.
The company assured that the new gadget's battery capacity will last for a day. It operates up to six hours longer than the iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than all generations of iPhone SE, Apple emphasized.
The new device will be available in 128, 256, and 512 gigabyte versions, as well as in white and black colors. This allows Apple to sell the device in the European Union — such a port is required by gadget manufacturers in the region. The previous iPhone SE model had a Lightning connector, while the new one supports Type-C.

In the iPhone 16e model, Apple highlighted features appealing to users in the iPhone 16 lineup: long-lasting autonomy, high performance based on the latest generation A18 chip, an innovative "two-in-one" camera system, and Apple Intelligence, said Kayann Drans, Apple's vice president of iPhone marketing.
