The arrival of Indian citizens to Uzbekistan has significantly increased, reported the National Statistics Committee. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From January to May 2025, approximately 28,500 Indian guests visited our country. This figure has increased by 22.7 percent compared to the same period last year, which is an increase of 5,300 people.
According to experts, this growth is related to the expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in tourism, services, education, and business sectors. In particular, the open policy pursued in recent years, the visa-free regime, and the emergence of new routes have greatly encouraged Indians to visit our country.
During the January-May period, the travel purposes of Indians were distributed as follows: 17,956 for tourism and recreation, 7,557 for business trips, 2,710 for education and study, 253 for visiting relatives, and 10 guests for commercial and business purposes. The share of those coming for travel and recreation is the highest, indicating that Uzbekistan's rich historical heritage, natural beauty, modern services, and national traditions are becoming increasingly popular among Indians.
Moreover, the increase in the number of those coming for business trips and education indicates the strengthening of economic and cultural ties between the two countries. Overall, the increase in the number of tourists and guests from India opens new opportunities for Uzbekistan.
The development in tourism, education, business, and service sectors is improving our country's international image. In the future, further growth in these indicators and the establishment of new records are expected.
