In the first half of 2025, the number of tourists arriving in Uzbekistan from various countries significantly increased. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the official data from the National Statistics Committee, during this period, the number of foreigners visiting our country for commercial purposes reached 223.6 thousand. This figure is 3.4 times or 158.6 thousand more compared to the first half of 2024.
The largest number of arrivals came from Afghanistan, totaling 207,536 individuals. This number constitutes an absolute majority among all foreign visitors.
Additionally, 12,244 citizens from Tajikistan, 1,642 from Turkmenistan, 451 from Russia, 276 from Turkey, and 255 from Kazakhstan visited Uzbekistan. Most of the arrivals came for commercial, service trips, or work-related purposes.
The strengthening of economic ties and the activation of trade relations in the border areas with Afghanistan have contributed to this growth. An increase in arrivals from neighboring countries, particularly Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, has also been observed.
Although the number of arrivals from Russia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan is lower, their participation in business projects in Uzbekistan is of significant importance. A favorable infrastructure for foreigners has been created in our country, state programs aimed at developing tourism are being implemented, and a safe environment is also being ensured.
