
During the practical visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Turkmenistan, important meetings were held to develop regional cooperation. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, issues of expanding cooperation in trade and economy, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian fields were discussed. The work carried out based on the agreements reached during the Georgian Prime Minister's visit to Uzbekistan in March of this year was positively evaluated.
Additionally, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a trilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Turkmen People's Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov. The issues of strengthening regional cooperation in energy, transport, industry, and agriculture, as well as promoting joint projects were discussed.
It was agreed to continue such formats of dialogue to develop practical cooperation. Furthermore, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The issues of further strengthening the friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were discussed. It was noted that the exchange of goods is increasing, and cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, transport, as well as agriculture and water management is expanding.
Moreover, the importance of ensuring the effectiveness of intergovernmental commission meetings, business councils, regional forums, and cultural events planned for this year was emphasized. This visit is expected to open new opportunities for the development of regional cooperation.
