The number of tourists increased in the first half of 2025
In the first half of 2025, the number of tourists arriving in Uzbekistan significantly increased. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the National Statistics Committee, a total of 783.7 thousand foreign citizens visited the country for tourism purposes from January to June. This figure is 255.1 thousand more than the same period last year, with a growth rate of 48.3 percent.

Despite the increasing competition in the tourism sector, interest in Uzbekistan is growing. In particular, the number of tourists from the Russian Federation is leading.

Their number reached 166.6 thousand. Citizens of Turkmenistan are in second place, with their number totaling 123 thousand.

Kazakhstani tourists reached 77.7 thousand, securing third place. Additionally, the number of tourists from Kyrgyzstan was 71.6 thousand, from Tajikistan 49.1 thousand, and from China 39.1 thousand.

Guests from Turkey numbered 29.3 thousand, from India 22 thousand, from Italy 18.6 thousand, and from South Korea 14.9 thousand in our country. Experts believe that the growth in the tourism sector is linked to several factors.

These include the expansion of the visa-free regime, improvements in road infrastructure, international advertising campaigns, and an increase in cultural events. Furthermore, Uzbekistan's rich history, unique architectural monuments, and national cuisine also play a significant role in attracting foreign tourists.

Programs aimed at enhancing the potential of the tourism sector are being implemented by the country's leadership. Therefore, it is expected that the number of tourists will further increase by the end of 2025.

Representatives of the tourism sector are hopeful for record results this year. Source: National Statistics Committee.
