According to the National Statistics Committee, as of July 1, 2025, the population of Uzbekistan amounted to 37.9 million people. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Analyses show that 56 percent of the population, or 21.2 million people, are of working age. The number of those younger than working age is 12.2 million, which constitutes 32.2 percent of the population.
This creates the potential for an increase in the workforce in the future. The number of those older than working age is around 4.5 million, or 11.8 percent.
Experts emphasize that a high proportion of the workforce is a significant factor in economic growth, job creation, and the development of the domestic market. At the same time, such a situation may bring additional burdens on infrastructure and social services.
Therefore, the importance of developing the labor market in collaboration between the state and the private sector, expanding vocational training programs, and implementing innovative technologies is emphasized. Source of information: National Statistics Committee.
