A new Olympic Village has started operating in Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This project is an important step aimed at developing sports infrastructure and further strengthening reforms in the field. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev closely reviewed the construction of this village on August 18.
Construction began on November 9, 2022, and modern sports complexes have now been established on an area of 100 hectares. The project is valued at 290 million dollars and was implemented by the “CAMC Engineering” company in accordance with international standards.
The Olympic Village includes five main sports facilities. Among them are a velodrome, table tennis, fencing, and cybersports.
The velodrome features a special track that meets the requirements of the International Olympic Committee, as well as wooden coverings. The same temperature is maintained inside the velodrome every year, which is important for enhancing athletes' performance and preserving the quality of the equipment.
At the center of the village is a stadium with 12,000 seats, where prestigious competitions such as world championships and the Brilliant League can be held. The stadium is also designed for athletics, para-athletics, and competitions for the visually impaired.
Additionally, the village is constructing a Paralympic dormitory with 400 beds and a scientific-practical center for sports medicine. All facilities are based on energy-saving principles and are equipped with a system for generating electricity through solar panels.
This serves environmental protection and sustainable development. A special complex for team and individual sports has also been established in the village.
These opportunities support the physical and intellectual development of youth and will take the country's sports sector to a new level. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to all specialists involved in the construction of the Olympic Village and emphasized the importance of every effort made to develop sports (source: zamin.uz).
