The prices of essential writing instruments and educational materials needed for school are as follows: five pens cost 7,000 soums, three black pencils 6,000 soums, ten 12-page notebooks 20,000 soums, fifteen general notebooks 50,000 soums, a set of colored pencils 15,000 soums, a book cover 15,000 soums, and a notebook cover 8,000 soums. Additionally, a pencil case costs 15,000 soums, a sharpener 9,000 soums, an eraser 6,000 soums, a set of rulers 25,000 soums, and a 24-page drawing notebook 15,000 soums.
School uniform prices differ for boys and girls. For boys, a white shirt costs 175,000 soums, classic trousers 250,000 soums, shoes 300,000 soums, and a tie 40,000 soums.
For girls, a skirt costs 200,000 soums, a white blouse 250,000 soums, shoes 250,000 soums, tights 125,000 soums, and a hairband 50,000 soums. The price of a school bag starts from 100,000 soums, while a handkerchief and socks are each sold for around 20,000 soums.
Overall, the average cost of school supplies for one boy is 1,096,000 soums, while for one girl this expense amounts to 1,206,000 soums. If a family has two children attending school, the total expense will be approximately 2,300,000 soums.
