
Uzbekistan ranks second among the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in uranium reserves. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

In the country, uranium mining is carried out based on underground leaching technology, which is considered environmentally safe. This method causes minimal harm to the environment and helps conserve natural resources.
Currently, 23 uranium mines are operational in Uzbekistan, and geological exploration is ongoing at 10 more sites. According to the “Uzatom” agency, uranium production is expected to reach approximately 4200 tons in 2025.
In the coming years, this figure is planned to increase, reaching 7200 tons by 2030. Uranium reserves are an important part of the country’s economy, and further development is expected through the rational use of its natural resources.
