
On August 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Takeshi Iwaya, who was on an official visit to our country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meeting, issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Japan and expanding multifaceted cooperation were discussed. It was especially emphasized that the dialogue is actively continuing and practical cooperation is rapidly developing.
Today's meeting demonstrated the effective results of the first Strategic Dialogue meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries. Deepening political dialogue and promoting specific projects in trade-economic, investment, financial-technical, and cultural-humanitarian spheres were identified as priority tasks.
Additionally, plans to expand the activities of the Uzbekistan-Japan Center and establish a joint university involving leading Japanese universities on its basis were supported. The meeting also included an exchange of views on issues of international and regional importance, including holding a future summit in the "Central Asia + Japan" format.
