Significant changes will be implemented in the Tashkent metro in the near future. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the metro press service, by the end of 2025, ticket offices at all metro stations in the capital will be completely closed and the position of ticket cashier will be abolished. This decision was made to automate services and improve processes using modern technologies.
According to the management, the demand for the ticket cashier position is gradually decreasing. For this reason, the employment contracts of 204 cashiers have been terminated and they have been dismissed.
The metro plan includes the introduction of modern automated ATMs and electronic ticket systems at all stations by the end of the year. This will make it possible to completely eliminate the positions of cashier and senior cashier.
Special professional retraining courses will be organized for the dismissed employees. They can choose to study in one of the fields such as accounting, sewing, confectionery, or other modern directions.
All expenses for the courses, including fees, will be covered by the metro. The main goal of this initiative is to support the dismissed employees, provide them with new professions to create a stable source of income, and improve their social situation.
Additionally, with the help of automated systems, the service process in the metro will be simplified, queues will be reduced, and time-saving opportunities will increase. The new system will also create conveniences for the capital’s residents.
Users will be able to purchase tickets quickly and efficiently, the need to wait in line at ticket offices will decrease, and the quality of service in city transport will improve. Thus, the Tashkent metro is striving to make services more efficient by widely implementing modern technologies and creating new opportunities for cashiers.
