Students who enrolled in bachelor's degree programs at state higher education institutions and have a GPA of 4.0 or higher during the academic year are awarded an additional state grant for the next academic year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These grants are provided in accordance with the established procedure. Applicants must submit their applications through the official website of the higher education institution by July 20 each year.
A special commission reviews the applications and notifies the students who receive grants by September 5 each year. Additionally, according to a government decision, students with a GPA between 3.3 and 4.0 at financially independent higher education institutions are awarded a grant from the higher education institution.
These grants are provided from off-budget funds up to a total amount of one billion soms. Depending on the GPA level, a certain portion of the tuition contract amount is covered.
For example, if the GPA is between 3.3 and 3.39, 20% of the tuition contract amount is covered; between 3.4 and 3.49, 30%; between 3.5 and 3.59, 40%; between 3.6 and 3.69, 50%; between 3.7 and 3.79, 60%; between 3.8 and 3.89, 70%; and between 3.9 and 3.99, 80% is covered. Applicants submit their applications by July 20 each year, and the results are announced by September 5.
This procedure must be clearly and timely implemented by higher education institutions. Source of information: zamin.uz.
