
On August 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Paolo Zampolli, the US President’s special envoy, who was on an official visit to Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meeting, issues related to further developing the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the US were discussed. It was especially emphasized that effective contacts at various levels continue.
Cooperation in the field of security, including combating terrorism, extremism, and illegal migration, has been effectively established. The US is traditionally considered an important economic partner of Uzbekistan.
In 2024, the volume of trade between the two countries increased by 15 percent. The project portfolio exceeds 11 billion dollars.
In June of this year, more than one hundred leading US companies participated in the investment forum held in Tashkent. It was emphasized that there are great opportunities to develop cooperation in mineral resources, aviation, electrical engineering, agriculture, digital technologies, finance, innovation, and education.
Additionally, the importance of strengthening regional cooperation within the framework of the “S5+1” format was noted. Plans for future dialogues and joint events were also reviewed.
