The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has a planned trip to Europe next month. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to official information, the head of state will be in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, on October 24. This was announced in a congratulatory letter from the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the visit, it is expected that an important document marking a new stage in relations between the European Union and Uzbekistan — the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation — will be signed. In his letter, Antonio Costa expressed his anticipation for the meeting scheduled for October 24, 2025, in Brussels, emphasizing that this meeting will create an opportunity to further develop cooperation between the European Union and Uzbekistan.
He also recalled the first “European Union – Central Asia” summit held in Samarkand last April. Costa noted that during that visit, he felt the sincerity and hospitality of the Uzbek people, and that the event left him with vivid memories.
Therefore, the meeting in Brussels in October is considered an important event not only for political dialogue but also as a new chapter expected to open in relations between Europe and Uzbekistan. Source: zamin.uz
