As of July 1, 2025, the permanent population of Uzbekistan reached 37.9 million. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the National Statistics Committee, 12.2 million people, or 32.2 percent of the population, are under working age. Additionally, 21.2 million people, or 56 percent, are considered working-age population.
The remaining 4.5 million citizens, or 11.8 percent, belong to the category of people older than working age. Experts believe that the high share of working-age population is an important demographic bonus for Uzbekistan.
This situation creates great opportunities to accelerate economic growth and implement new reforms. Therefore, effective use of the country’s demographic composition is a crucial factor for strategic development.
Proper guidance of youth and the workforce can be the main driving force for the future development of Uzbekistan’s economy. Source of information: National Statistics Committee.
