President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has put forward important initiatives to fundamentally reform the education system based on modern requirements. The head of state emphasized the need to pay special attention to engineering and exact sciences.
In this regard, 14 new engineering schools will be opened in various regions of the country within the system of the Specialized Educational Institutions Agency. These schools will specialize in training a new generation of engineers.
Admission will be based on a competitive selection process, and the educational process will be organized according to the STEM model. Within the framework of a five-year educational program, young people will acquire highly qualified engineering knowledge.
The new engineering schools will be based on the advanced experience of the New Uzbekistan University and the specialized schools named after Mirzo Ulugbek. Education will be provided completely free of charge at the expense of the state budget.
Additionally, starting from 2026, an annual national competition for the "Best Engineering School" Presidential Award of Uzbekistan is planned to be held among general education schools. Special specialized schools for in-depth teaching of natural sciences will be established in all regions.
This will serve to enhance the scientific and technical potential of students. Source: zamin.uz
