Contract fees for women are covered by the state
According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a new opportunity has been created for women studying at higher education institutions who are in need of social assistance. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

From now on, their contract fees will be fully covered by the state. This decision will provide significant relief for thousands of students and their families.

The right to benefit from this privilege includes children from low-income or officially recognized poor families, orphans or young people deprived of parental care, as well as women who have lost their spouses and are raising their children alone. To use this privilege, women must submit an application to the admissions committee of the higher education institution where they are studying.

No documents need to be attached to the application, as the necessary information is automatically obtained from the state's electronic databases. The admissions committees send the applications to the relevant ministry within 5 working days, after which the ministry submits the documents to the regional authorities.

The selection process is carried out by regional commissions. From each region, 150 women are selected: 40 of them will be first-year students, and the rest will be second-year and higher students.

The commissions evaluate candidates based on their financial and living conditions, university entrance scores, the demand for specialists in the region according to the field of study, and the student's year of study. The list of selected students is sent to the Committee on Family and Women, where a recommendation is prepared within 10 days and sent to the regional administration.

Students entitled to the privilege receive their contract payments in four installments at the end of each quarter through local authorities. However, women studying for a second specialty, or those studying at foreign or private higher education institutions, are not eligible for this benefit.

Additionally, if students change their field of study or are expelled from the university, the right to cover the contract fee is revoked. This decision provides great support to women in need of social protection, expands their opportunities for education, and helps them find their independent place in life (source: zamin.uz).
