
On September 11, a powerful explosion occurred at a metal collection point in Ili district of Almaty region, Kazakhstan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
As a result of this incident, three Uzbek citizens died. This was reported by “Zakon.kz” citing information from the regional police department.
According to official information, the explosion happened under the influence of unknown harmful substances. Police, fire safety personnel, and emergency medical teams operated at the scene, but it was not possible to save the victims.
According to the owner of the collection point, Amirbek Sherbayev, there may have been military waste among the metal. He suggested the possibility of an unexploded mine.
Sherbayev stated that nearby workshops were rented by Chinese nationals who bought scrap metal at a low price but did not know exactly what was inside. Currently, all law enforcement agencies have arrived and are thoroughly investigating the incident.
According to “Nur.kz”, the explosion site is completely cordoned off and no one is allowed in. Criminal investigators and representatives of the Ministry of Defense are conducting the investigation.
The causes of the explosion are still being determined. This tragedy has caused deep sorrow not only among the local population but also in the wider community.
