Control measures on passenger transport in Tashkent city have been further strengthened. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Regular raids are being conducted on buses in cooperation between the Transport Control Inspection and the Passenger Transport Control Department. Since the beginning of the year, more than six thousand passengers have been caught traveling without tickets in the capital, and administrative reports have been issued for each case.
The fine amount is ten percent of one base calculation, which is 41,200 soums. This sum is approximately twenty-five times the bus fare.
Interestingly, while about four thousand passengers violated the rules during the seven months from January to August, more than two thousand ticketless passengers were identified in just the following one and a half months. This indicates an increase in fare evasion cases.
Moreover, if the violation is repeated, the responsibility will be increased. According to Article 144 of the Administrative Liability Code, a passenger traveling without a ticket will be fined three base calculations, i.e., 1,236,000 soums.
Officials emphasized that control measures will continue and that all passengers are strictly required to pay the fare on time (source: zamin.uz).
