Diyor Haydarov conquered the Matterhorn peak
Famous Uzbek mountaineer Diyor Haydarov successfully conquered the Matterhorn mountain (4478 meters), located in the Alps and considered one of the most challenging peaks in the world. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This achievement was important not only for his personal sports career but also contributed to enhancing Uzbekistan's reputation in the international sports arena. The ascent began from the Swiss town of Zermatt (1620 meters).

Diyor initially reached the Hornli Hut (3260 meters) and underwent a short acclimatization training. Early in the morning, he and his team traversed difficult rocky paths and encountered icy areas at an altitude of 4000 meters.

At this point, Haydarov experienced technical problems with his crampons, but he continued his route using an ice axe and overcame all difficulties. Within four hours, Diyor reached the Matterhorn summit and descended safely within five hours.

This climb required not only physical endurance and technique but also psychological stability. Diyor Haydarov's previous achievements are also noteworthy.

In July 2025, he conquered Bozarduzu (4466 meters), the highest peak of Azerbaijan. Additionally, in 2021, he climbed the Abu Ali ibn Sino peak (7134 meters) in the Pamir Mountains and raised the Uzbek flag in honor of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence.

His latest success once again confirmed the active participation of Uzbek athletes in the international mountaineering field. Such achievements serve not only as an inspiration for the country's sports but also help increase interest in sports among the younger generation.
