In Uzbekistan, mobile communication operators will have the opportunity to connect directly to the internet without intermediaries. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This news was approved based on a government decision. Operators were granted the right to directly connect to international internet networks on a trial basis until January 1, 2030.
This right is applied for commercial activities and providing services to users. According to the Ministry of Digital Technologies, this decision was made to attract investments to the telecommunications market, ensure information security, and align Uzbekistan's legislation with the requirements of the World Trade Organization.
Thus, an important step was taken to develop the country's internet infrastructure and further strengthen the digital economy. This, in turn, serves to improve service quality and enhance competition.
