Moped driving license validity extended to 2025
The People's Democratic Party has proposed postponing the requirement for a driving license to operate mopeds and scooters until 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the party's official statement, although the new rules were planned to take effect from October 1, this deadline may create difficulties for young people. The statement emphasized the need to reconsider the deadline for obtaining a driving license for mopeds and scooters, the state registration number, and the payment amount.

According to the party's information, currently nearly 130,000 young people are actively working in courier services, primarily using bicycles, mopeds, and scooters. With the enforcement of the new requirements, there is a risk that many young people may become unemployed and lose their source of income.

Additionally, the People's Democratic Party noted that the time allocated for obtaining the driving license is insufficient. The government extended the deadline, but the short timeframe for completing the document acquisition process may cause difficulties for many citizens.

The statement also mentioned that those working in this field often live by their own labor without expecting help from anyone. Therefore, the party proposes finding new solutions that do not create difficulties for the population to resolve this socially and economically significant issue.

The party announced that it will submit a parliamentary inquiry on the matter. It is reminded that according to the decision adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on August 9, 2024, moped and scooter drivers are required to obtain an “A” category driving license from October 1.

Previously, this requirement was postponed from March 1 to October 1 (source: zamin.uz).
