
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep condolences on the occasion of the passing of the prominent statesman and public figure, who made great contributions in the field of irrigation and land reclamation, Ismoil Jo‘rabekov. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Ismoil Hakimovich Jo‘rabekov passed away at the age of 94 on September 28, 2025. For many years, he made a significant contribution to the implementation of water management systems and agricultural reforms in our country.
Ismoil Jo‘rabekov was born on September 12, 1931, in the city of Samarkand. He studied at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers.
He began his labor activity in 1955 as a hydraulic engineer in the Pastdargom district. Later, he served as the head of the “Suvqurilish” trust, the first deputy minister of water management, and the Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Management.
Additionally, Jo‘rabekov worked as the first deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Uzbekistan and as the first deputy prime minister during the years of independence. He demonstrated active initiative and organizational skills in forming the executive power system, establishing the farming movement, and implementing fundamental reforms in agriculture.
In recent years, as an advisor to the Minister of Water Management, he did not spare his knowledge and experience in educating young cadres and developing the sector. His work was highly appreciated, and he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Irrigator of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” as well as the orders “Labor Glory,” “Friendship,” “For Selfless Services,” “Respect of the People and the Nation,” and “For Great Services.”
Ismoil Jo‘rabekov will always be remembered by our people as a highly qualified specialist in his field, a kind mentor, and a devoted statesman. Source: zamin.uz
