
According to the data from the National Statistics Committee, more than 7.5 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan from January to August 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This figure is 2.5 million higher compared to the same period last year, representing a growth rate of 49.1 percent. The majority of tourists came from neighboring countries.
Specifically, 2.16 million people came from Kyrgyzstan, which is 48.9 percent more than last year. The number of tourists from Kazakhstan reached 1.769 million, an increase of 73.5 percent.
The number of visitors from Tajikistan was 1.699 million, up by 15.6 percent. The number of tourists from Russia also increased, totaling 663.2 thousand, which is 25 percent more.
Tourists from Afghanistan entered the top ten for the first time, ranking fifth with 304.5 thousand visitors. Visitors from Turkmenistan numbered 243.5 thousand, ranking sixth and showing more than double growth.
Among tourists from distant countries, those from China were the leading group, numbering 135.4 thousand. This figure is three times higher than last year.
The majority of tourists, 5.16 million people, came to visit relatives. Additionally, 1.15 million came for leisure and travel, 837.5 thousand for business trips, and 287.7 thousand visited Uzbekistan for commercial purposes.
