In 2025, 4.1 billion compensation was provided to needy families
In Uzbekistan, in August 2025, a total of 4.1 billion soums in compensation funds were allocated to needy families for electricity and natural gas. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the Ministry of Energy, these funds were directed to cover payments for electricity and gas consumed beyond the established norm. In accordance with the President's decree, the state compensates the difference between the base rate and the increased prices for the portion of electricity consumption exceeding 150 kilowatt-hours and natural gas consumption exceeding 150 cubic meters.

In August, a total of 222,887 families were deemed eligible to receive compensation. At the same time, more than 1,711,000 needy families applied for compensation through the general procedure.

During the reporting period, 3.6 billion soums of the allocated funds were spent on electricity, and 552.7 million soums on natural gas payments. This indicator represents the next portion of the total 17.3 billion soums in compensation paid to 350,600 families from May to August.

According to the Ministry of Energy, in July, compensation totaling 5.8 billion soums was paid to 278,100 families, which is 71,300 more families compared to June. Additionally, starting from June 1, 2025, applications for gas and electricity compensation for needy families are accepted monthly throughout the year.

According to the new procedure, payments are made regularly throughout the year, not only during the winter months (source: Ministry of Energy).
