
Uzbekistan is among the countries with affordable internet prices worldwide. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to a RIA Novosti report based on data from Russia's Federal State Statistics Service and figures collected from various countries, the average monthly price for home internet in our country is $11.7. This indicator places Uzbekistan among the top countries with cheap internet.
For comparison, India has the lowest home internet price at $7.7 per month. Romania ranks third with $9.8.
Russia ranks second among major economies in terms of internet prices, with an average monthly cost of $8.7. Additionally, countries such as China ($11.3), Kazakhstan ($12.7), Turkey ($13.8), Bulgaria ($14.6), and Lithuania ($16.5) are also listed among the countries with the most affordable internet services.
Countries like Poland ($17.2), Georgia ($17.4), Thailand ($18.4), Armenia ($19.1), and Latvia ($19.7) complete the top 15 list of affordable internet countries. On the other hand, the most expensive internet prices are led by the USA ($72.1), Canada ($61.7), and Luxembourg ($59.1).
Countries ranging from Belgium to Germany, Australia, Portugal, and South Africa are also among those with high prices. The list of countries with the most expensive internet also includes the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Austria, Sweden, and France.
At the same time, internet prices are evaluated not only by their absolute value but also by their share relative to the population's income. For example, in Brazil, home internet accounts for 4.1% of the average income, in Mexico this figure is 3.8%, and in Argentina, it is 3.65%.
The lowest shares are recorded in Russia (0.67%), Romania (0.9%), and South Korea (0.97%). According to experts, the affordability of internet prices in Uzbekistan expands access to digital services and contributes to the development of the digital economy in the country.
