The total cost of the nuclear power plant being built in Uzbekistan has not yet been determined. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Azim Akhmedkhadzhayev, director of "Uzatom," the construction costs of the AES in Jizzakh will be reduced due to the high level of localization. He shared this information with the Spot publication during the World Atomic Week held in Moscow.
Although certain parameters of the construction are known, its exact price has not yet been set. The project is being implemented based on a comprehensive infrastructure, so there is an opportunity to optimize costs.
This will help significantly reduce construction expenses. However, the exact results will be known after thorough calculations are made together with local and international experts, Akhmedkhadzhayev said.
Additionally, the Russian side fully understands the efforts being made to optimize the cost of the Uzbekistan AES project and acts in accordance with the customer's requirements. The director emphasized that if the level of localization is high, "Uzatom" will be proud of the project's final cost.
