
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan fined three banks a total of 2.5 billion soums for violating customers' rights. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by Kursiv Media. According to the distribution of fines, Hamkorbank is to pay 955 million soums, Davr Bank 931 million soums, and TBC Bank 615 million soums.
According to the Central Bank, these banks must return the funds unlawfully withheld from their customers. The total amount to be returned is approximately 34.8 billion soums.
During the current year, out of 121 complaints received by the regulator, 68 were resolved in favor of the customers. The Central Bank emphasized the necessity to evaluate the activities of financial institutions not only by income or transaction volume but also by their attitude towards consumers.
