During the construction of a multi-storey building in Samarkand city, a truck parked by the road fell into a deep pit due to ground subsidence. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It was revealed that this incident occurred because safety regulations were not followed. The construction pit was dug contrary to the approved project and safety requirements, which led to the ground near the road subsiding.
The construction work is being carried out by the “Samarkand Oxygen Service” company. They are building a new residential complex on the site of demolished industrial buildings.
The contractor narrowed the road between houses 10 and 26 on “Baghdad” street under their control, creating inconvenient conditions for both vehicles and pedestrians. Following an inspection conducted on September 22, instructions were given to eliminate the deficiencies within 15 days.
If this requirement is not met, the company will be held accountable under the Administrative Liability Code. Local residents emphasize that although construction work is ongoing, safety measures have not been adequately implemented.
