The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has fined the Uzbekistan Football Association 340 thousand US dollars. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This fine was imposed due to a violation that occurred after the match between the Uzbekistan and Qatar national teams on June 10, 2025. Bringing BYD cars onto the field to award players after the match was deemed against AFC disciplinary regulations.
The AFC requires host countries to display only official sponsors' brands within and around the stadium. This is because funds are allocated to each host team for World Cup qualifying matches, and the proper use of these funds is monitored.
Uzbekistan was fined for not complying with this requirement. This situation demonstrates that the activities of football organizations and sponsorship policies are under strict control.
