
An official meeting took place in the city of Dushanbe between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Uzbek leader sincerely congratulated the President of Tajikistan on his chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States and wished success for the upcoming meetings within the cooperation format between Central Asian and Russian states. The meeting discussed issues related to further strengthening and expanding the friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance relations between the two countries.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the positive pace of bilateral cooperation, the increasing volume of trade turnover and cargo transportation, as well as the growth in the number of air flights. Special attention was paid to adopting coordinated measures to further increase trade and implement joint projects in the fields of industry, energy, and agriculture.
Additionally, the importance of activating cultural and humanitarian exchanges and continuing effective interregional contacts was emphasized.
