The number of Uzbeks traveling to Saudi Arabia has increased significantly. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the data from the National Statistics Committee, from January to August 2025, 165.7 thousand citizens traveled to Saudi Arabia. This figure is 53.8 thousand people or 48.1 percent more compared to the same period last year.

The majority of travelers, that is 141.6 thousand people, went for tourism purposes. Additionally, 23.5 thousand people traveled to visit relatives, 548 for medical treatment, 62 for work, and 18 for studying in Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia granting all visa holders the opportunity to perform Umrah had a significant impact on the increase in the number of trips. During this year's Hajj season, more than 15 thousand Uzbeks performed the sacred rituals in an orderly manner.

They arrived in Saudi Arabia in mid-May and returned home by the end of June. According to experts, the introduction of electronic registration, online booking, and a convenient visa system has greatly simplified the travel process and created convenience for citizens.
