According to Azim Ahmedkhodjaev, head of the Uzatoma agency, a nuclear power plant is planned to be built in the future to supply electricity to the Jizzakh, Samarkand, and Navoi regions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He announced this in an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV channel. The commissioning of this plant will create great opportunities for the development of industry and agriculture in the regions.
Additionally, dependence on gas will decrease and the impact of seasonal changes in “green energy” will be reduced. The total capacity of the nuclear power plant being built in Jizzakh will be 2.1 gigawatts.
The plant will consist of small and large capacity reactors. In October, land preparation work began for the small capacity nuclear power plant.
This project will serve to strengthen the energy sector in the region and ensure stable energy supply. Source: Kursiv.media.
