Today, October 15, scientists recorded one of the strongest solar flares observed in recent months. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the data from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute near the Russian Academy of Sciences, there is a possibility of an even stronger energy release in the coming hours. Experts emphasize that solar activity has significantly increased today, a situation that was forecasted on October 14.
According to scientists, today's activity level may reach the highest peak in the last few months. Laboratory data indicate a continuous increase in solar radiation.
It has increased fourfold within a day across all indicators, approaching level M. This means that the Sun is producing strong X-rays even without an explosion.
This event has been recorded as the second strongest activity in the last four months. At the same time, scientists highlight that for the first time since this summer, an X-class, i.e., very strong flare, may occur.
It is worth noting that at the end of September, scientists recorded the strongest magnetic storm in the last three months. Experts report that such a level of storm was last observed on June 1.
Currently, the increase in solar activity is affecting Earth's magnetic field, and the likelihood of small-scale magnetic storms occurring in the coming days is rising. Scientists emphasize that these processes are part of a natural cycle and call on satellite and communication system operators to take precautionary measures.
