
According to the data from the National Statistics Committee, the number of foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan for commercial purposes significantly increased during January-August of this year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During this period, a total of 287.7 thousand foreign citizens arrived in the country. This figure is nearly three times higher compared to the same period last year, increasing by 190.3 thousand.
The majority of visitors were citizens of Afghanistan, numbering 267,879. Additionally, there were 14,648 citizens from Tajikistan, 2,235 from Turkmenistan, 585 from Russia, 392 from Turkey, and 373 from Kazakhstan.
The number of foreigners from other countries amounted to 1,635. These data indicate growing interest of foreigners in Uzbekistan's commercial sector and an increase in their economic activity.
