
On October 20, a bilateral meeting took place in the city of Samarkand between Lieutenant General Shuhrat Kholmukhammedov, Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan, and Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the meeting, issues of further expanding military cooperation between the two countries, improving the joint training system, and establishing the exchange of experience and practical knowledge were discussed. Additionally, the parties exchanged views on developing intergovernmental military and military-technical cooperation and strengthening mutual solidarity in the fight against international terrorism.
The main goal of the meeting was to develop practical cooperation aimed at ensuring peace, unity, and sustainable development. On the following day, October 21, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, together with defense ministers of Central Asian countries, observed the regional "Unity – 2025" training exercises held at the "Kattakurgan" training ground in the Central Military District.
Units from the defense ministries of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan are participating in these exercises. Source: zamin.uz
