Privileges will be granted for artificial intelligence in Karakalpakstan
At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, issues related to creating a favorable environment to encourage investment in the field of artificial intelligence were discussed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

As emphasized by the head of state, the most important step in this area is to increase modern supercomputer clusters and large-scale data centers. In these infrastructures, the largest portion of expenses, approximately seventy percent, goes to electricity.

Therefore, it is important to reduce electricity tariffs to an attractive level for investors. President Mirziyoyev announced that these efforts will first begin in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

A number of privileges will be introduced for investors who invest more than one hundred million dollars in artificial intelligence infrastructure. In particular, the price of electricity will be set at five cents per kilowatt-hour.

Additionally, all tax and customs privileges granted to IT park participants will be applied. Equipment imported for artificial intelligence projects will be exempt from customs duties.

This initiative will not only ensure significant achievements in the field of artificial intelligence but also create new opportunities for the economy of Karakalpakstan. The meeting also discussed the issue of providing high-speed internet to remote areas of the country.

Starting next year, satellite internet operators will begin their activities and will be exempt from land, property, profit, and value-added taxes for five years. This will help expand digital infrastructure across the country.

At the end of the meeting, the President noted that the introduction of artificial intelligence is of strategic importance not only for technological development but also for economic and regional progress. Source: president.uz
