Starting from 2026, newly constructed residential complexes and other objects in Uzbekistan will be named exclusively in the Uzbek language. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the decision adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on October 22, the names of new construction objects, building passports, signboards, as well as inscriptions on advertisements and announcements must be in the state language. Strict compliance with Uzbek language norms is required in the documents.
In addition, all technical, authorial, and control documents related to construction must be submitted to the relevant territorial inspections in accordance with the rules of the state language. The decision also sets the task of linking the “E-XSUD” system in the construction sector and the permit system in the ecology direction with the “Integrated Information System of Cadastre and Registration” and the “Transparent Construction” platforms.
This decision will come into force three months after its official publication, that is, from the beginning of 2026. Experts consider this decision an important step towards strengthening the status of the state language and developing language culture in cities (source: Cabinet of Ministers decision, 2023).
