Number of marriages in Uzbekistan decreased in 2025
According to the data from the National Statistics Committee, a total of 177 thousand marriages were registered in civil status registration offices in Uzbekistan from January to September 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Of these, 91.2 thousand were in urban areas, and 85.8 thousand in rural areas. Over the past five years, the number of marriages has shown a decreasing trend.

For example, while 206.8 thousand marriages were registered from January to September in 2021, this figure decreased to 197 thousand in 2022, 184.5 thousand in 2023, 179.4 thousand in 2024, and 177 thousand in 2025. These data indicate that the number of marriages is gradually declining each year.

Experts believe this situation is related to economic difficulties, changes in lifestyle, and the growing tendency among young people to marry later. Additionally, modern living conditions and social factors also influence the decrease in marriages.
