According to a new decision in the Republic of Uzbekistan, residential complexes, neighborhoods, and other construction objects must be named only in the state language – Uzbek. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This decision was made to ensure that the names used in the construction sector are uniform and comply with the spelling rules of the Uzbek language. Additionally, new regulations were developed to strengthen national identity and preserve cultural heritage.
From now on, the names of new residential complexes and neighborhoods will be checked for compliance with Uzbek language rules during registration. Furthermore, taking into account the historical and cultural characteristics of the regions, a list of permitted words and toponyms will be formed.
This procedure serves to develop the national language and preserve the uniqueness of the regions. Source: zamin.uz.
