
In the city of Samarkand, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, presented the "Friendship" order to UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This high honor was awarded to Audrey Azoulay for her contribution to developing cooperation in the fields of science, education, and culture, as well as for promoting Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage worldwide. During the meeting, the President and the UNESCO head discussed issues related to further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the organization.
Audrey Azoulay sincerely congratulated the President on the successful holding of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference. This session is particularly significant as it is being held in Samarkand for the first time outside Paris after a 40-year hiatus.
She expressed warm appreciation for the high level of organization and the richness of the program of the event. A number of important activities are planned within the framework of the conference.
Among them are the launch of UNESCO's Regional Center for Preschool Education, the awarding of the Beruni Prize, the celebration of Samarkand's 3000th anniversary, as well as forums dedicated to museums, artificial intelligence, and gender issues. These events will contribute to the development of international cooperation and further promote Uzbekistan's cultural heritage on a broader scale.
