It is planned to establish a special fund under the Ecology Committee in Uzbekistan to address environmental issues. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This initiative is reflected in the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Financial resources for the fund will be allocated from the state budget.
Specifically, 900 billion soums are planned to be allocated in 2025, and this amount will increase by another 548 billion soums in 2026. At the same time, starting from 2026, 20 percent of the revenues from carbon unit sales, as well as fines and compensation payments, will be used to replenish the fund.
Additionally, 10 percent of utilization fees in 2026 and 90 percent in 2027 will be directed to the fund. One hundred percent of fees related to car tires and other rubber products will also contribute to forming the fund's resources.
A special council will be established within the fund to manage the resources and oversee the implementation of projects. All activities are intended to be conducted transparently and with accountability to the public.
