President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a new decision regarding the social protection system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to it, persons with limited income opportunities and disabilities will no longer be included in the poverty register. This is because the responsibility to support such citizens will be fully transferred to the state.
This decision marks the beginning of a new era in the social protection system. Information about the “Equal Opportunity – Inclusive Employment” project was also provided at the meeting.
This project will be implemented from the new year, with the main task of providing employment for 40,000 persons with disabilities. To achieve this goal, interest-free loans of up to 30 million soums will be allocated through the Employment Fund.
Existing assistance and benefits for families at risk of poverty will be maintained. In particular, they will be provided with material assistance for 6 months, child benefits, and the opportunity to cover kindergarten and extracurricular activity expenses.
Additionally, the right to use 110 types of social services will be granted for 12 months. Furthermore, a system will be established to identify families at risk of falling into difficult life situations in advance and provide them with targeted assistance.
The responsibility for implementing and monitoring these tasks has been assigned to Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, the first deputy director of the National Agency for Social Protection. This decision indicates that the policy of social protection for the population will be further strengthened in the coming year (source: one.uz).
