A comprehensive inspection was conducted regarding the activities of air-polluting entities in Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From November 24 to 28, working groups of the Special Commission on Ecology monitored enterprises in the capital and its surroundings, as well as construction sites. As a result, the operation of 67 greenhouses was suspended, and administrative protocols were issued in 403 cases.
Additionally, connection conditions to the gas network were established for 19 households. Several violations were also identified in the construction sector.
Specifically, 53 illegal construction sites were identified, and work was temporarily halted at 34 sites. In total, 188 individuals were held administratively liable.
To reduce dust at construction sites, water spraying devices were installed at 51 facilities. Regarding the transport sector, 837 truck drivers were subjected to administrative measures for transporting loads uncovered, and 206 drivers were penalized for exceeding waste disposal norms.
Moreover, city streets and public places were washed, canals and ditches were cleaned, fountains were activated, and the microclimate improved. As a result of these measures, the concentration of harmful PM 2.5 particles in the air decreased from 171 µg/m³ to 97 µg/m³ within a week.
However, the Ministry of Ecology announced that due to the arrival of a cold anticyclone starting November 29, air quality may temporarily deteriorate.
