A new water reservoir with a capacity of 100 million cubic meters called "Sultonhovuz" is planned to be constructed in Sirdarya region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The head of state, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced this at the regional council session. This facility will supply water to the agriculture of five districts in the region, enabling the possibility of harvesting twice a year.
Additionally, the president instructed to gradually start cleaning drainage canals with a total length of 16 thousand kilometers. Furthermore, an experimental project aimed at reducing soil salinization is planned to be implemented in the region.
It has been reported that "smart" meters will be installed at water reservoirs in Uzbekistan. This will allow digitization of the water usage system and enable online monitoring of the water volume in artificial reservoirs.
These measures serve to ensure rational use of water resources and the development of agriculture. Source: one.uz
