A comprehensive policy aimed at popularizing alternative energy sources in Uzbekistan and ensuring the effective use of these sources by the population is being consistently pursued. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During discussions led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, new plans in the country's energy sector, particularly "green" projects serving the interests of the population, took an important place. According to official data, next year, based on Chinese experience, large cooperative projects aimed at utilizing solar energy in 300 neighborhoods will be implemented.
Within this program, solar power plants with a total capacity of 107 megawatts are planned to be installed. This will expand the opportunity to meet the local population's electricity needs through affordable and stable sources.
Another important aspect of the project is connecting 30,000 low-income households to the "green" energy grid. These families will earn additional income by transmitting the electricity they generate beyond their own needs to the general grid.
This will not only reduce the economic burden but also increase energy independence and contribute to social stability. Additionally, entrepreneurs are actively participating in this sector.
This year, small and micro hydropower plants with a capacity of 40 megawatts were built by the private sector, producing 120 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This has become a stable source of income for entrepreneurs.
Plans for the coming year are even more extensive. Construction of small and micro hydropower plants with a capacity of 65 megawatts across the country is planned.
Through this, the quality of electricity supply for at least 80,000 households will be elevated to a new level. In conclusion, the "green energy" sector in Uzbekistan is developing as a strategic network that harmonizes the interests of the population, business, and the state.
These changes will not only strengthen the country's energy security but also accelerate the process of achieving ecological sustainability. Source: one.uz.
