The number of vehicles in Tashkent city is increasing every year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Currently, more than 800,000 vehicles are moving on the capital's streets, with an additional 150,000 to 300,000 vehicles entering daily. According to experts, if modern solutions are not implemented, traffic congestion could become a more serious problem in the coming years.
To address this issue, a Single Traffic Management Center is being established in Tashkent city based on a presidential decree. This center will be responsible for managing traffic across the city through a unified digital system.
As an important part of the project, 600 main intersections will be connected to a special "digital map," and traffic lights will be controlled in real-time using artificial intelligence. According to official data, the new system is expected to reduce traffic congestion by 30 percent.
Additionally, the average traffic speed will reach 44 km/h. Waiting times at traffic lights will decrease by 35 percent, which will significantly save the time of city residents.
Experts emphasize that these reforms will not only optimize traffic flow but also improve the overall quality of life in the city. In particular, in harmony with ecological vehicles, the new system will transform Tashkent into a safer, more comfortable, and modern metropolis.
